Good for you! This is fantastic! Our pediatric pulmonoligist told us iron can actually help sleep apnea in some cases so we should try making more food for Emelia in these!

Woo!! Well if WE won incredible Lodge Cookware, I would use it now -- but be more excited to use it LATER. We always wanted a brick oven/outside cooking area. My fav is a great stir fry. The iron would be a plus, but the longevity is what catches my eye!

I'm tellin' ya...one of these babies could be sitting at the bottom of the ocean for 50-years, retrieved, scraped off, seasoned and would probably last your family a dozen lifetimes. They're THAT good. Good luck!

Unknown said...

Lodge says this skillet is one of their most coveted! Hope you nab it!

Good luck, Peg! If you win, are you cookin' for me? ;)

Unknown said...

I would like to win because I've heard that cooking on an iron skillet adds extra iron to your diet. I've had some anemia problems so this would be great.

I want to win because I know how great cooking in iron cookware is. Treat them right and they last FOREVER. It also adds iron to your diet just by eating food cooked in them. An iron skillet like this makes fabulous corn bread in the oven.

Congratulations and best wishes! Hope we can send you an early wedding present! :)

Unknown said...

Isn't the iron supplementing the best bonus? My mother-in-law tells me that some countries are switching all their cookware over to cast iron to get more iron in diets. I never thought about the fact that cooking in cast iron would actually add the element into the food. Duh! Such an awesome perk! Good luck, and welcome to the Hearth!

Unknown said...

Grandma had it right, Stephanie! If you win this one, you'll be handing it down to your grandchildren some day! These babies will last forever! Best wishes, and thanks for hanging with us at the Hearth!

Unknown said...

Mmmm...breakfast foods are my favorite in my cast iron skillets. Delish! Good luck! Thanks for stopping by the Hearth!

Unknown said...

What a mental picture I have. Just as long as you don't use it to store superfluous CORKS in your attic. If you win, I expect you'll be serving up breakfast and beers! ;)

Unknown said...

That's such a great reason. Really! I just can't get over all the benefits to using these pans. I'm so happy that you all are feeling that groove as well! Good luck!

Unknown said...

Oooh! Cool! Do you use a skillet for bread? We got started on this cast iron kick when I bought a dutch oven for my husband to make bread. I never thought about using the skillet instead. Isn't cast iron the BEST?!?

Unknown said...

I hope you get the chance. If you win, Lodge will send you the heaviest, best delivery ever to get started! Good luck!

Unknown said...

Couldn't agree more, Debbie! The fact that Lodge is willing to offer up their best seller, just to encourage others to try out cast iron greatness, makes me so happy. Great company!

I would love to win because as a child my Mom had a huge cast iron skillet that she fried chicken in. I have never been able to get mine to come out like hers and the only thing different is, I don't have a cast iron skillet to fry it in. Thanks for the chance!
